Former NHL Player – Montreal Canadiens
Mats Naslund is the first European to put on the Canadiens jersey and one of the most consistent players of the 1980s. Nicknamed “Petit Viking” (“Little Viking”), Naslund's 110-point season helped the Canadiens to a Stanley Cup championship over the Calgary Flames in 1986 — their first title since 1979.
As a member of the esteemed "Triple Gold Club", Naslund won many major titles during his career, including a Stanley Cup Championship, Olympic Gold Medal, World Championship Gold Medal, and a Lady Byng Trophy. He paved the way for generations of European players to thrive in the NHL and can be counted as one of the pioneers of the league. In 2004, he was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
