Doug Gilmour is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. With his skill, Doug Gilmour played 20 seasons in the National Hockey League. He was also a two-time All-Star and was a member of Calgary’s 1989 Stanley Cup championship team. He even won the Frank J. Selke Trophy for being NHL’s best defensive forward in 1992-1993. Doug Gilmour also represented Canada three times in international competitions. Doug Gilmour likewise, was a member of the 1987 Canada Cup championship team. Due to his similarities with the serial killer, Charles Manson, Doug Gilmour was nicknamed by his teammates as “killer”. Doug Gilmour also was inducted into both the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. Following his playing career, Doug Gilmour started being a coach when he joined the Kingston Frontenacs. With his dedication and talent in the sport, Doug Gilmour received several awards making him one of the legends in the ice hockey world.
