Career: Patrick Pentland is known for being a member of the band, Sloan. What makes the band even more interesting is the fact that the members are the ones who write, produce, and sing their own songs. He is the lead guitarist of the group. He also plays rhythm guitar, bass, keyboard, and drum. It was in 1991 that he was approached by Chris Murphy to Sloan which is still active up to this day. Pentland also has written music publications and dabbled in blogging. In addition to these, he likewise contributed his talent in music to a children show as well as several television commercials.
Early life: Pentland was born in 1969 in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. He attended Sackville High and Millwood High, and later attended The University of King’s College to take a course in journalism. He finished his studies with a degree in history. It was during highschool that he became serious with music. His passion for music was greatly influenced by his father who was also a member of rock bands.
