The all-time highest scoring American-born player in the NHL and a cult player for the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota North Stars. Modano played in 1499 NHL regular season games and 176 playoff games, scoring 1374 points and 146 points respectively during an NHL career that spanned over 21 seasons. In 1999 he won the Stanley Cup with the Stars.

As one of the game's greatest ever players, Modano's been inducted into the US Hockey Hall of Fame, the IIHF Hall of Fame and the Hockey Hall of Fame and has been named one of the top 100 NHL players of all time. In 2014, his jersey #9 was retired by the Dallas Stars.
