Career: Flavor Flav is an American rapper, hype man, and television personality. He is one of the founders of the rap group, Public Enemy, in 1985 along with Chuck D. He became famous for his yell “Yeah boyeeeee!” He also starred in several VH1 reality series, like The Surreal Life, Strange Love, and Flavor of Love.
Early life: Flavor Flav was born in Roosevelt, New York in 1959 and grew up in a nearby Freeport. He is the cousin of Shep Garner, who is a former Penn State basketball player. He is also the cousin of rappers Ol’ Dirty Bastard, RZA, and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. At the early age of 5, he started to learn piano on his own. He also sang in the youth choir at his church while learning and mastering various musical instruments. In addition to these, he attended culinary school in 1978 then went to Adelphi University on Long Island.
