About Leo Rautins

Leo Rautins is a former professional basketball player. He is currently a Canadian broadcaster for the Toronto Raptors since the inception of the team in 1995. Leo Rautins is also the former head coach of the Canadian men’s national basketball team. As a basketball player, Leo Rautins played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Philadelphia 76ers. After recovering from an injury, he returned to playing the sport and participated in European professional leagues from 1985 to 1992. Leo Rautins was inducted into the Canada Basketball Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Ontario basketball Hall of Fame in 2000. Leo Rautins had four sons with his first wife, Maria. Interestingly, Andrew or Andy followed his father’s footsteps as he played for Syracuse and has been drafted by the New York Knocks in 2010.
