Career: Nigel Owens, MBE is a former international rugby union referee. He retired in 2020 after a 17 year long career i the sport. Currently, he holds the world record for the most test matches refereed and is one of the international referees seen on the list of the Welsh Rugby Union. In addition to his referee career, he is also a known presenter in the S4C Welsh language chat shows Jonathan and Bwrw’r Bar. He also has his own quiz programme, A Minute To Go.
Early life: Owens was born in 1971 in Wales. He worked as a school technician at Ysgol Gyfun Maes-yr-Yrfa in Llanelli. In addition to this,he was also a youth worker with Menter Cwm Gwendraeth and a farmhand on a farm for over a year.
