Andre Dawson, nicknamed "The Hawk" and "Awesome Dawson", is a former professional baseball player, who played for the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, & Florida Marlins and inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010. He won 4 Silver Slugger Awards, 8 Gold Glove Awards, appeared in 8 All- Star games and was the 1977 National League Rookie of the Year as well as the 1987 National League Most Valuable Player.

Career: Andre Dawson, also known as “The Hawk” and “Awesome Dawson”, is a former professional baseball player and inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He played most of his playing career with the Montreal Expos and Chicago Cubs. He played his last two years with the Florida Marlins and retired after the 1996 season. His fans gave him a standing ovation while walking off the field. He then accepted to work at the front office of the team. He is also the owner of The Mahogany Grille in Miami, Florida and the Paradise Memorial Funeral Home in Richmond Heights, Florida.
Early life: His nickname, “The Hawk”, was given to him by his uncle at an early age. He also used to work out with the team and hit ground balls during practice. He was observed to be unique with other kids as he tend not to shy away when thrown with balls.
