Maria Rooth

An iconic player for University of Minnesota-Duluth, Maria is ranked second in all-time leading scoring in Bulldogs history and was named to the WCHA All-Decade team in 2009. She is the Bulldogs’ all-time leading goal scorer with 119 career goals and ranks second in career points with 232 in only 124 games. She was a three-time All-American (2001, 2002, 2003) and a three-time First Team All-WCHA selection.

Maria also represented her native Sweden in over 230 international games, scoring 195 points. Her resume includes 4 Olympic Games and 9 world cups, winning 1 Olympic Bronze and 2 WC Bronze medals.

Her jersey, number 27, remains the only University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey player to have her jersey retired. In 2015, she was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
