Career: Henry Blofeld OBE is an English retired sports journalist and broadcaster. He is known for being a cricket commentator for Test Match Special on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra. He was also nicknamed “Blowers” by Brian Johnston and made a reputation in the broadcasting industry for his eloquence and unique style. He was awarded an OBE or the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire due to his service in the broadcasting industry in 2003. In addition to broadcasting, Henry Blofeld also wrote books and among them are entitled My Dear Old Thing: Talking Cricket and Squeezing the Orange. The latter talks about his life both personal and professional. The book also includes his encounters with different celebrities and politicians as well as his trip from London to Bombay in a vintage Rolls-Royce.

Early life: He went to school at Sunningdale School, Eton College, King’s College, and Cambridge. Henry Blofeld also played cricket in Sunningdale and Eton. He also played the sport at Cambridge University in 1958 and 1959.
