About Sir Geoff Hurst MBE

Career: Sir Geoff Hurst MBE is a former professional football player. He is a renowned striker and became famous for being the only man to score a hat-trick during a World Cup final. He started his professional football career with West Ham United in which he was able to score a total of 242 goals in the first 500 team appearances. He also won the FA Cup in 1964 and the European Cup Winners’ Cup a year after. He later on transferred to Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion. He also played football in Ireland and the USA before going back to England. Hurst also had the chance to coach England and Kuwait SC. Early Life: Hurst was born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancanshire in 1941. His father was also a professional footballer who played for various teams. His love for football started at a young age.
