"Battlin" Billy Smith, the legendary New York Islanders goaltender and arguably one of the toughest goalies to ever play the game. Billy Smith was part of the Islanders from the very beginning as the #4 overall pick in the 1972 NHL Expansion Draft and throughout the Islanders dynasty years in the early 1980's he went on to win 4 Stanley Cup Championships, 1 Conn Smythe Trophy, 1 Vezina Trophy and 1 William M. Jennings Trophy. Smith was loyal to the Islanders for his entire career and his jersey #31 was retired by the Long Island team in 1993. Later that year, Smith was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame – the only goaltender inducted in the 1990's. In 2017, he was named one of the 100 greatest NHL players of all time.

I am currently a Canucks analyst for Sportsnet and a mental health advocate. on 1996 I was diagnosed with OCD and now speak on mental health and ending the stigma. Some oddities include the fact I’m on a Swedish postage stamp and was a judge for the 1993 Miss Teen USA pageant.
